From an interview with Janos Janurik-

AB: My favorite is “Nerves of Steel” I just keep playing it over & over again it’s sounds like electro rock to me & I can`t wait to perform it live hopefully next year. It is a song about the grit & determination that it requires for a relationship to last. It is a celebration of world lovers no matter in which form. The last single will be “Fallen Angel” which is a roller coaster ride of emotions.

[ziggy]

I was so fed up with myself
I had to change my ways
I was so far off with myself
It was the final stage
Almost fell off a cliff
I had to learn to fly

You gotta get em’
You gotta do it
You gotta get em’
Do it

Ride on top of a rollercoaster
Walk up and down escalator
I tried all of the things that give me love
Fly like a fallen angel
Love just like it’s second nature
I tried all of the things that give me love

There is no man that is an island
Can do it by yourself (by yourself)
Climb down off of your horse
The kingdom to survey
Fall all over the place
I guessed I made a mess

You gotta get em’
You gotta do it
You gotta get em’
Do it

Ride on top of a rollercoaster
Walk up and down escalator
I tried all of the things that give me love
Fly like a fallen angel
Love just like it’s second nature
I tried all of the things that give me love

ERASURE: THE THIRD SINGLE FROM 'THE NEON' IS 'FALLEN ANGEL' AND IT WILL BE RELEASED NEXT WEEK
We wanted you to be among the first people to know that the third single to come from Erasure's current album 'The Neon' will be the marvellous 'Fallen Angel' and it will be released next Thursday (October 22nd). We will be announcing the single to the big, wide world officially next week and I will be back with you on Thursday with all the news about that, and about one or two other things as well. That's all I can tell you right now, but don't worry the next newsletter is already less than a week away!

Not my first, second or even fifth choice for a single from The Neon, but they forgot to ask me. I guess I'm not a huge fan of the lyrics, and for some reason the lines “you've gotta get ‘em, do it” just seem to bother me. Still the song starts out great and is overall not their best nor their worst. And, it’s hard not to get excited for a new single even if it's not my personal favorite. I’m hoping for interesting mixes and a b-side too. We haven't gotten one b-side yet!!

[moxxey]

We haven't gotten one b-side yet!!

Which is particularly strange as Vince said they had about 16 tracks lined up for the album and cut their choices down to 10.

My guess is, the band decided on the tracks they wanted before they recorded the lyrics and mastered, so the other tracks are totally unfinished.

Let’s hope some of these make the ‘expanded’ single CDs.
