This must’ve been a recent booking as Erasure were due to play in the US on this date.

It also means Andy is well, performing and isn't affected by the concert cancellations.

I am not sure how I feel about that, it seems odd.

Actually Ben, you do make a very good point. Band cancels everything (we don't know the reason, granted), lots of upset fans, one half of the band decides to go out 'on the road' himself.

I do agree, bad as this sounds, it's a tad insensitive and poorly advised by management.

The other day I wasn't sure how I felt about this, that has changed I find it to be a really bad idea. I am sure the fans who had their shows cancelled will be happy to see that Andy is performing on a floating prison.

It's become a lot clearer today. Tracy, Vince's wife, just announced she was diagnosed with advanced stomach cancer in January and started treatment as of today. Worryingly, I read online you can't cure advanced stomach cancer, only keep it under control, which is a longer term concern for both Tracy and Vince.

Going back to Andy, maybe Vince simply told Andy to go and do this cruise concert, partly to stop him worrying. We don't know. But either way, he might have had Vince's blessing to just get out and do something.

In a recent interview, Andy talked about Ronnie Spector of The Ronettes who sang the original “Be My Baby” so it’s likely that song. But I’m sure most of us hope it was the LATEOTW bonus track with the same title! (does Andy even recall that they have that bonus track?) 🤣
