Smalltown Boy (Dave Audé vs Tall Paul Remix)

Hi everybody,

I'm thrilled to announce an exciting new remix of Bronski Beat's iconic hit, "Smalltown Boy," in honor of the song's 40th anniversary!

I've teamed up with one of my best friends, Tall Paul, to bring a fresh, dynamic take on this classic, while keeping the emotional depth that made the original unforgettable.

Whether you're a long-time fan of the original or discovering the track for the first time, this remix will transport you back to the essence of 80s synth-pop while reimagining the sound for today's dance floors. Make sure you check out the video as well!

Have a great weekend and celebrate life through music!

-Dave

Bronski Beat - Forbidden Fruit (The Age of Consent Remixed) - (CD Album)

The first incarnation of Bronski Beat unfolded over a short but sweet period from April 1984 with ‘Smalltown Boy’ and ending in September 1985 with their post-split remix album ‘Hundreds And Thousands’.
With a nod to the original ‘Hundreds And Thousands’, and following on from last year’s 40th Anniversary editions of ‘The Age of Consent’, London Records announce an all new Bronski Beat album - ‘Forbidden Fruit - The Age Of Consent Remixed’.
The album features new reworks from the likes of Gareth Jones (Depeche Mode, Erasure), Kinky Roland (Boy George, Marc Almond) and more, alongside exclusive extended versions of the 2024 remixes by Superchumbo (ft Neil Tennant) and The Knocks (ft Perfume Genius). The CD version contains a further four tracks, including an extended remix of ‘No More War’, the much sought after Promo Dub of ‘I Feel Love’ and a new version of their first ever song, a reworking of ‘Screaming’.
Traversing electronic dystopia, italo-disco, NRG , sultry jazz and more, ‘Forbidden Fruit’ makes for a fitting finale to ‘The Age of Consent’. All versions are unreleased and appear on CD for the very first time.

The forthcoming Bronski Beat album release ‘Forbidden Fruit - The Age Of Consent Remixed’ has lots of connections to the Andy Bell is Torsten project. Barney Ashton-Bullock (centre) was the product manager and master tape archivist for the release, commissioning a number of all new remixes for the 11th July ‘25 release. Christopher Frost (left) worked on ‘Johnnie Remember Me (A Jazz Affair)’ adding piano and saxophone overdubs and also mixing a new version of ‘Screaming’ called the Stripped Mix, layering Jimmy’s vocal takes from the original 1984 multi-track masters and, again, adding piano overdubs. Finally, another Andy connection - in the guise of Erasure and Depeche Mode producer Gareth Jones - who was commissioned by Barney to create ‘Junk (an electroGenetic remix)’ giving the album track an appropriately apocalyptic electro vibe in a stunning new electronic remix. Torstenites, remember, it’s best to read more about the release through the official Bronski Beat store https://store.bronskibeat.co.uk where, if you order the album, the first 1,000 copies come with an exclusive 4-track bonus CD Single called ‘Bronski Beat - The Final Chapter’.

Looking forward to this release!
