Duran Duran

[opalfruit]

New album currently riding high in the charts fighting it out for the number one spot with Elton.

Saw them live in Scarborough recently and they haven't missed a beat, Kicked the show off with the new single invisible which is a pretty decent tune then delved into their ridiculously large collection of hits (so large there was sadly no room for Hungry Like the Wolf) and had 8000 people dancing like the pandemic was over.

They also introduced me to a band I'd never heard of before but really enjoyed due to their uniqueness, Walt Disco were slated to be the opening act and I had no idea who they were didn't really bother googling to find out and was getting ready to zone out of the opener/use it for toilet breaks like I normally do But as soon as these guys stepped on stage all members in dresses (I've always said if you want peoples attention on stage wear a dress, works every time.) I was captivated by their very 80's throwback sound (think early dead or alive) and will be closely following their career since Duran Duran's choice of openers usually end up in my all time favourite bands list (Erasure opening in 87 and Scissor Sisters in 04)

I'd have to imagine there's a lot of overlap between fans of Erasure and Duran Duran so what's everyone's thoughts on Future Past? for me it's great to see bands I love in it for the long hall still releasing new music and touring to critical and commercial success (with Erasure being very much included in that sentiment)
