Because of this particular mix or the song?,this version beefed up the sound and gave it a fuller sound making the original sound quite thin. It is one of the most changed ‘remixes’ of any of the singles used to promote the pop/hits/best of compilations.

I disagree. The original "minimalist" (in this context) album or 7" version are better in comparison. There's nothing "thin" about them when you listen for the nuance. On the other hand, the Hamburg mix comes across as a remix when you even push aside the original and try to listen as if a new track. Not to knock the mix, though. I liked it.

If you really want "beefed up", David Wrench's mix of Sometimes did more in that context without adding more.

I just find the song weak as compared with what was to come... My favorite version is probably the 2005 Erasure Show live version!
