I think we can read into that as "we'll definitely get new music" (great), but Vince has clearly said he doesn't want to tour anymore, so I cannot see a big world tour (sad). Kinda to be expected with everything that's happened over the couple of years.

Of course, I doesn't mean Andy won't tour again though.

...and back in the day, Vince's 'dream' was that that's the way he'd like it to be - he just wanted to program everything in advance then let the singer go and do the tours!

I really hope not but I get where Vince is coming from re being too old, as much as I love Blondie it's a bit sad seeing Debbie Harry at 80 odd still touring. I don't think Erasure are there yet, I feel like there's still a lot left in the tank DM, Duran Duran, OMD, Alsion Moyet, Tears for Fears, PSB all still touring into their late sixties and they all still sound great. It's not a problem until they don't.

Vince has gone through a lot in the last few years but I assumed the fan club shows were about getting ready to go out there again but sort of doing it in a safe setting rather than jumping straight into a world tour. I've often wondered what it'll feel like when my favorite band call it a day and I'm glad this isn't that day but if they are done touring it can't imagine it'd be too far off.

I really hope this isn't true and that Richard has more of a solid update regarding a tour for the new album as even as old as they are they still a fantastic experience live and it's something I know we all look forward to.

We had two albums where Erasure didn't tour, because Vince didn't want to. He's famously said he never liked touring back then, and felt he'd reached a stage where he didn't have to anymore. That was when he was still quite young! Luckily for us, at some point he apparently fell in love with it, and we subsequently got a number of tours and concerts - and one for Yazoo to boot! If he'd not changed his mind, the Phantasmagorical Entertainment tour might have been the last time we ever got to see Erasure live! (I'm sure Andy would have done something eventually though - actually, I wouldn't mind a peek into that alternate reality).

Let's see what happens with this new album project though - to me, Richard's statement at least hints at the possibility of a farewell tour or some shows. But if not, we can at least hope for an increased frequency of new studio stuff!

That's what I'd assume, too. Some kind of mini tour or a few key dates. Also, Vince probably looked at the recent live shows and realised he really - actually - doesn't need to be there to a venue to sell out to play Erasure tracks.

Must be really hard for Vince. Not making any assumptions, but in that same interview he finishes by saying what was his greatest achievement and he says "my marriage". I think it really meant the world to him and he's probably feeling a bit soulless and rudderless without it. Must be much harder to get excited and motivated, especially over the idea of touring....which he never liked anyhow!
