Just want folks to know that anyone can turn off some aspects of the current xmas theme in their user control panel. Your user control panel is found when clicking your username at the upper right hand corner of the page under the forum header image.
Just go there then click the board preferences tab to see the display settings. You can make changes and click submit once done.

Will themes change throughout the year? I think the Snow Globe theme looks amazing, but I won't want to see it all year. I've been busy with family and travel but plan to do more poking around on the new site this weekend.
All in all, looks really sharp! I like it

Exciting indeed!
I really, really like the use of the different past “Erasure fonts” on the front page to make the word “Erasure.” Yea, I'm a font dork.
One suggestion I might mention regarding the site: Is there a way to turn ON (certain) email notifications by default? I think most people expect an email notification when someone sends them a pm but I believe this new site and the old both had it off by default (and many people never check their forum settings.) I rememeber there was a new-ish user selling some items and I messaged him about Buried Treasure but he never responded and I always wondered if he was expecting automatic emails from the site.
Happy new year everyone!

We are of one mind there. Trust me. You're going to enjoy what's coming.

You've hit upon an issue that's debated in the forum dev community. It's generally an opt-in option by default
by design for several reasons; one being to prevent PM spamming by bots and trolls. Revising this is also not an easy modification compared to others, and requires editing some of the core code. I have to say that while I'd agree with you in preference, some feel differently. However, I promise we will discuss this further in "the back office".

Hello! Getting used to the new forum but so far enjoying it and I'm LOVING the new title display as well!
Quick question: On the old forum, when you clicked on a thread you would automatically be sent to the end of it, i.e. the most recent post, which is as it should be. Thus far I can't seem to make that happen here on the new one. Can you advise if it's possible and how to do it? It may also be a case of my old iMac desktop being so old and out of date that it doesn't have the capability. Thanks, all!!
