Well this is a great return for SoftWave following up from the last digital release ‘Thank You For Breaking My Heart’ this time a song written during the period where they had just been asked to remix an Andy Bell track from his Torsten back catalogue for a vinyl album only release Club:Torsten!,for which they included two brand new ‘tech noir’ remixes.



This is a song for Andy about this project and what happens when you get me meet your idols.
Catrine sings her heart out in this excellent single about her love for her ‘Shining Star’ that she adores from a far,and the struggle to reach the point of her stardom by taking pointers from her favourite performer,and from the strength of this new single she seems to be taking on all the right attributes to become her very own shining star.

The music backing is also superb Jerry has done a great job,I will put this latest release at the top of my favourite SoftWave tracks so far.

The Danish synthpop duo SoftWave are releasing another brand-new single called ’Supernova’, which is packed with electronic party sounds to kickstart the forthcoming spring period and hopefully it’ll maintain its focus through a warm and sunny summer in Denmark and elsewhere.
Compared to SoftWave’s latest single release ’Thank You For Breaking My Heart’, which was a classic electropop song, ’Supernova’ sees the band go into more mainstream pop territory yet with loads of club potential to hit a broader audience, through its lyrics about having someone that you idolize.
When the duo least expected this during the Covid lockdown in 2020, they received word that their favorite singer Andy Bell (of Erasure fame) would like to enlist their help in remixing a song from his then solo project. This was a huge success for SoftWave, who produced not just one remix but two quite unique remixes released on Andy Bell’s ’Club Torsten!’ vinyl album project. Among the other participants in the remix project was acts and remixers like Bronski Beat, Vince Clarke (also of Erasure + Depeche Mode & Yazoo), Barry Harris (of Konkan) and Matt Pop. The album went straight into the UK OFFICIAL VINYL CHART, and is now a sought after collectors item, and since long sold out from all official vinyl sellers.

The recipient, Andy Bell, was also really enthusiastic about SoftWave’s amazing remix-treatment of his two songs:
